Pray for Messianic Jewish followers of Jesus Christ
Pray for Jewish followers of Jesus Christ who are seeking to live faithfully within their Jewish identity and their allegiance to the Messiah.
Lord Jesus, strengthen Your Jewish followers. Give them wisdom, humility, and courage, and make them faithful witnesses within their families and communities.
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
Romans 12:10
Pray for Arab Christian Believers
Arab Christians make up the large majority of Israel’s Christian population. Pray for churches in Nazareth, Haifa, Jerusalem, Galilee, and elsewhere to flourish spiritually.
Father, strengthen Arab Christian families and churches. Fill their witness with grace, courage, and perseverance.
And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Galatians 6:9
Pray for healing from trauma
Pray for families carrying grief, fear, and memories of violence, and for communities whose homes and livelihoods have been disrupted.
Father, come close to those who are grieving. Bring comfort no human being can manufacture, and lead wounded hearts toward healing.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
2 Corinthians 1:3
Pray for Christians to be peacemakers
In a society carrying deep divisions and painful memories, the way Christians live matters. Pray that churches would be known not only for what they believe but for how they love, serving families, children, the elderly, immigrants, and anyone in need.
Lord, keep Your people from hatred and bitterness, and give them courage to pursue truth, justice, mercy, and reconciliation.
If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:18
Capital: Jerusalem
Major religious communities: Jewish, Muslim, Christian, and Druze
Christian population: approximately 184,200, about 1.9% of the population (end of 2025)
Arab Christians: about 79% of Israel’s Christians
Languages: Hebrew and Arabic, with many other languages spoken by immigrant communities
Israel is a land where history, Scripture, faith, and modern life meet every day. Jerusalem, Nazareth, Galilee, the Negev, and the coastal cities carry layers of history that reach far beyond the modern state.
But this profile is not about monuments. It is about people.
Israel is home to Jewish communities from many backgrounds; Arab citizens, both Muslim and Christian; Druze and Bedouin communities; and immigrants from many parts of the world. Jewish Israelis alone trace their roots to Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, Ethiopia, the former Soviet Union, and elsewhere.
There are secular Israelis, Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox communities, and traditional Jewish families. There are Messianic Jews who follow Jesus Christ as Messiah. There are Arab Christian families who have lived in the land for generations, and Muslim families who are part of the country’s social fabric.
Israel is often discussed in terms of politics and conflict. Prayer asks us to look past the headlines: to a Jewish mother getting her children ready for school, a Bedouin father working to provide for his family, an immigrant learning Hebrew, a Druze family keeping its traditions, a student wondering what faith means. Each one is a person created in the image of God.
Israel has also lived through profound trauma and loss since the war that began in October 2023. Families have lost loved ones, communities near the borders have been displaced, and many people live with fear, grief, and uncertainty.
Israel has ancient churches and a visible Christian presence, yet Christians make up only about 1.9% of the population, and most of them are Arab Christians. Alongside the historic Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Armenian, Coptic, and Syriac churches are evangelical congregations and Messianic Jewish fellowships, many of them small.
Israel also presents a distinctive spiritual reality: Scripture is familiar, but Jesus Christ is not. The Hebrew Scriptures are part of the nation’s heritage, and biblical names and places are woven into everyday life. A person can know Abraham, Moses, David, and the words of Isaiah, and still never have seriously considered the claim that Jesus Christ is the Messiah.
The questions differ from community to community. For Jewish Israelis, exploring Jesus Christ can raise questions of family, identity, history, and belonging. Muslim Israelis often have little personal contact with evangelical Christians. For secular Israelis, the question may begin somewhere else entirely.
Young Israelis live in a highly educated, connected world of universities, technology, military service, and global culture. Opportunity has not silenced the deeper questions: Who am I? What is truth? Why is there suffering? Can forgiveness really exist?
That is why we pray for patient, respectful witness marked by genuine friendship, where the character of Jesus Christ accompanies the words of His followers and no one is treated as a project.
Pray for Jewish Israelis to encounter the Messiah
Pray for Jewish men and women who have never seriously considered Jesus Christ as Messiah, and for respectful conversations and genuine friendships.
Father, draw Jewish people toward Yourself. Give them a hunger for truth, and open their hearts to understand who Jesus Christ is.
Show me Your ways, O Lord; Teach me Your paths.
Psalm 25:4
Pray for the Scriptures to come alive
Many Israelis know the biblical text through school, family tradition, or cultural heritage. Pray that Scripture would move from historical knowledge to personal encounter.
Lord, open eyes and hearts. Let people read the Scriptures with fresh understanding and discover the One to whom they point.
Open my eyes, that I may see Wondrous things from Your law.
Psalm 119:18
Pray for Muslim communities
Pray for Muslim families who have had little opportunity to meet Christians able to explain the Gospel with patience and respect.
Lord, place trustworthy Christian friends alongside Muslim neighbors. Open the door to honest conversations, and reveal Your truth.
The entrance of Your words gives light; It gives understanding to the simple.
Psalm 119:130
Pray for young Israelis
Pray for students and young adults wrestling with questions of identity, purpose, suffering, and faith.
God, meet Israel’s young people. Give them courage to ask honest questions and humility to follow the truth wherever it leads.
Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come,
Ecclesiastes 12:1
Pray for a fresh awakening
Pray for a spiritual awakening that reaches Jewish, Arab, and every other community in the land.
Father, pour out Your Spirit. Awaken hearts to Jesus Christ, and raise up disciples, teachers, pastors, and ordinary Christian Believers who will faithfully make Him known.
For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, And floods on the dry ground; I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, And My blessing on your offspring;
Isaiah 44:3
Father,
We bring Israel before You. You know every person living in this land: every Jewish family and every Arab family, every Muslim and every Christian, every Druze and Bedouin community, and every immigrant who now calls it home. You know the wounded, the grieving, and the fearful. You know those who are searching, and those who have stopped searching altogether.
We pray especially for those who have never truly heard the good news of Jesus Christ. Open the Scriptures to them. Open conversations, homes, and hearts. Give Your Church wisdom, give Jewish followers of Jesus Christ courage, and strengthen Arab Christian communities. Give Christian leaders humility and integrity, and teach Christian Believers to love their neighbors without conditions.
Bring healing to families carrying grief and peace to hearts marked by fear. Let the name of Jesus Christ be made known with truth, humility, and love, and let many discover that He is not merely a figure of history. He is alive.
In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
