In Israel, a growing food insecurity crisis is affecting many families, even though large amounts of food are still wasted every year. Reports show that millions of tons of food are thrown away, while around 1.5 million people struggle to get enough to eat. Many households now face high food prices, and low-income families are the most affected. The ongoing conflict has made the situation worse by disrupting farming, reducing the number of workers, and increasing costs for fresh food. Some agricultural areas near conflict zones have been abandoned, and imports are now more important but also more expensive. At the same time, government spending has focused heavily on security and war, leaving less support for social needs like food aid. As a result, many people feel pressure in their daily lives, trying to balance rising costs with limited income. The crisis shows how war and economic strain can quietly affect everyday survival, turning food insecurity into a serious and widespread problem across society.

LORD, we pray for the 1.5 million people in Israel suffering a hunger crisis. Father, help them to break free from the cycle of food and economic insecurities. LORD, bless them with opportunities to improve their lives and livelihoods (The Holy Bible, Psalm 34:6).

Pray for divine wisdom and discernment so that the authorities can manage Israel’s resources and tackle the growing food insecurity properly. Pray for the healing and restoration of the Country’s economy, broken by war and mismanagement (The Holy Bible, Psalm 80:19).

Pray for peace and security between the nations in the Middle East region. Pray for oneness among the international authorities to find solutions that promote peace and reconciliation in the region (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 16:7).
