Christians in Afghanistan live under constant fear and danger because of their faith. After the Taliban returned to power in 2021, the situation became much worse. People who leave Islam and follow Christianity are seen as traitors, and they can be punished severely. Many believers must hide their faith, meet in secret, and pretend to follow Islamic practices to survive. If they are discovered, they may face threats, violence, imprisonment, or even death. Some families have been attacked in their homes, and others have been forced to flee to nearby countries like Pakistan. The Hazara community, already a persecuted minority, faces even greater risk when its members become Christians. Despite these hardships, many still hold on to their beliefs and quietly support each other. Their courage shows how strong faith can be even in the darkest situations. The world often hears little about their suffering, but their stories reflect deep pain, resilience, and hope for many people.
Pray against all forms of hatred against Christians, especially believers from the Hazara community, in Afghanistan. Pray for the Love of GOD to supernaturally fill the hearts and minds of the Taliban leaders and religious leaders to end persecution of believers in the country (The Holy Bible, Job 36:6).
Pray for the divine protection upon all the Christians in Afghanistan, especially believers from the Hazara community, from harm and violence. Pray that the Holy Spirit of GOD will empower and encourage all Afghan believers facing oppression (The Holy Bible, Psalm 147:3).
