In Yemen, landmines left from years of war continue to harm innocent people long after fighting has slowed. In Taiz governorate, a young girl named Enaya Dastor lost her left leg when she stepped on an explosive while herding goats in 2023. She was only 13 years old and rushed to the hospital, where doctors had to amputate her leg. Many children in Yemen face similar dangers, as fields, roads, and villages are still filled with hidden mines. According to aid groups like Save the Children, hundreds of children have been killed or injured since the ceasefire. Survivors like Mohammed Mustafa show how lives are changed forever, yet some try to rebuild their futures with strength and hope. De-mining teams are working to clear explosives, but the process is slow and difficult. Despite her injury, Enaya dreams of becoming a lawyer to help others and fight injustice in her country.

Pray for the LORD’s divine protection for all the children in Yemen from landmines and other explosive remnants. Pray for the LORD to heal the hearts of the little souls in Yemen from the scars of the war and its aftermath (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:7-8).

Pray for increased funding to remove landmines and other explosive remnants of war in Yemen. Pray for restoration and replenishment of the nation and its people’s lives (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 30:17).
