Gunmen attacked an orphanage in Kogi State, Nigeria, and kidnapped at least 23 children, causing fear and concern across the region. The incident occurred in Lokoja at an unregistered facility called the Dahallukitab Group of Schools, located in an isolated area. According to Kingsley Fanwo, security forces quickly responded and rescued 15 children, but eight are still missing. The wife of the orphanage owner was also taken by the attackers. Authorities say the orphanage was operating illegally without proper government approval. No group has claimed responsibility, but violence in Nigeria is often linked to groups like Boko Haram or criminal gangs that kidnap people for ransom. Kidnappings, especially in schools, have become more common in recent years. The government has promised to continue rescue efforts and improve security. This attack highlights the growing safety concerns for children and vulnerable communities in Nigeria.
Pray for the immediate and safe return of all the missing kidnapped victims in Nigeria. Pray for divine protection upon all the Nigerians, especially children and women, from evildoers. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 33:22).
Pray for the LORD’s intervention in Nigeria against the violent attacks and kidnapping incidents of the evildoers. Pray for the LORD to be with the innocent Nigerian civilians, especially children and women, as a Mighty, awesome One. (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 20:11).
