Terrorism in the Sahel is growing quickly and causing serious problems for people living there. Countries like Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso have faced many attacks by armed groups over the past decade. In 2025 alone, there were hundreds of attacks and thousands of deaths, making the region one of the most affected by terrorism in the world. According to the Global Terrorism Index, the Sahel accounts for a large share of global terrorism deaths. Violence has forced millions of people to leave their homes, creating a major humanitarian crisis. Leaders in the region have also blamed each other and outside countries for supporting these armed groups, which has increased tensions and reduced trust. United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has called for countries to work together and address the root causes of extremism. Without unity and strong action, the crisis may continue to worsen.

Father GOD, we pray for Your divine intervention in the Sahel region against growing violence and extremism. We pray for Your protection for all the people in the region from the forces that seek to harm them (The Holy Bible, Psalm 27:1).

LORD, grant the government of Niger and other nations in the Sahel region the oneness and discernment to tackle the security challenges. Let there be unity among them to protect the people and bring peace to the region (The Holy Bible, Psalm 133:1).

Let there be no breaching of terrorist groups into Niger and in the Sahel region in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 144:14).
