South Sudan is facing a serious crisis as hunger spreads across the country, putting millions of lives at risk. Tom Fletcher, the under-secretary-general for Humanitarian Affairs and emergency relief coordinator, has warned that the situation could soon turn into a full famine if urgent action is not taken. Many people are already struggling to find enough food, and over 7.5 million are expected to need help this year. Floods are worsening conditions by cutting off communities and destroying livelihoods. At the same time, fighting between armed groups continues, forcing thousands of families to flee their homes. Important places, such as nutrition centres, have been damaged, making it harder to support those in need. Civilians are suffering the most from both hunger and violence. Aid workers are calling for better access to deliver help and for all sides to respect human life. Without strong support, the country risks falling deeper into crisis and instability.
Almighty GOD, we pray for the divine provision of resources and sustained aid for all the people in need in South Sudan. We pray that no one, especially children, suffers for lack of healthcare, food, refuge, and other basic needs, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ (The Holy Bible, John 14:14).
Pray for the end of the deadly conflict between armed groups in South Sudan. Pray for the LORD to restore peace, protection, and justice to all the innocent South Sudanese civilians (The Holy Bible, Psalm 80:3).
Pray for divine protection and provision for all the vulnerable people, especially women and girls, in South Sudan. Pray for more funding support to provide for the people in need in the country (The Holy Bible, Ruth 2:12).
