Christians in Eritrea are facing serious challenges to their freedom of religion. Many have been arrested simply for practicing their faith in churches that are not officially recognized by the government. Although some prisoners were recently released, they were forced to sign papers promising not to worship freely again. This condition limits their freedom and makes it unfair. Some of those released had spent years in prison under very harsh conditions, with little food, water, or medical care. Others, including young people and even minors, are still being held without trial. These actions show how difficult life is for many Christians in the country. They are often treated as criminals just for their beliefs. Even after release, they live in fear of being arrested again. Despite this, many continue to hold on to their faith, showing strength and courage in very hard circumstances every day.
Praise GOD for the life of Eritrean Christians. Pray that the testimony of faith and transformation of the believers will inspire many toward Christ, the Savior, throughout the country (The Holy Bible, Revelation 12:11).
In the Mighty Name of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, we command the Angels of the LORD GOD to surround and protect all the Eritrean believers, their families, and their properties from all evil (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 45:11).
With the help, comfort, and boldness of the Spirit given to each Christian, let the Eritrean Christians declare that, “we are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed”, in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ, Amen (The Holy Bible, 2 Timothy 1:7).
