Many children in Lebanon are facing a difficult crisis and are now living in schools that have been turned into shelters. These children have lost their normal routines and often feel scared, stressed, and uncertain about the future. To help them, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and its partners started a project that uses reading as a simple but powerful tool. Through storytelling sessions and reading activities, children are given a chance to learn, imagine, and feel calm again. Special reading kits help them stay engaged and bring some joy to their daily lives. The project also includes support for their mental health, allowing children to share their feelings and feel understood. For many children, books create a safe space where they can forget their worries for a while. This support helps them feel stronger and more hopeful. The initiative aims to reach more children across Lebanon, so they can continue learning, rebuild their confidence, and find comfort even during very hard times in their daily lives.
Abba Father, we bring all the little souls in Lebanon into Your Presence. Please heal their hearts and minds, which have been corrupted by the war and violence around them. Let their focus be on You, the Author and Finisher of our faith and hope. Fill them with Your divine Presence, love, and peace (The Holy Bible, Hebrews 12:1-2).
Pray for the authorities to implement more effective measures to provide for and protect the children in Lebanon, who are affected by the war and its consequences. Pray for the authorities and citizens to provide for the physical and psychological needs of the children in their homes and neighborhoods (The Holy Bible, Matthew 25:40).
Pray for all the children in Lebanon to have access to quality education. Pray for the improved educational infrastructure in the nation. Pray for divine provision for all the families burdened by economic hardship in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 68:10).
