Anita Kiki Gbeho, the new leader of the UN Mission In South Sudan (UNMISS), told the UN Security Council that conditions in South Sudan are getting worse. Fighting between government forces and opposition groups has increased, especially in Jonglei, and civilians are suffering the most. More people are being killed or injured compared to last year, and violence between communities continues due to land disputes and cattle raids. At the same time, UN peacekeepers are facing serious budget cuts, which reduce their ability to protect people and respond quickly. Hospitals, roads, and aid services are also under pressure, making life even harder for families. Humanitarian workers warn that most of the population now needs help, but funding is far below what is required. Food shortages, disease outbreaks, and destroyed health facilities are putting millions at risk. Despite these challenges, peacekeepers and aid workers are still delivering food, medical supplies, and support, trying to bring some stability and hope to a very fragile situation.

Pray for the LORD’s intervention in South Sudan to end the conflict between the government forces and opposition groups. Pray for HIS divine protection upon all the innocent civilians caught in the crossfire of this conflict (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).

Praise GOD for the mission of the peacekeepers and aid workers in South Sudan, despite serious budget cuts. Pray for more funding to help the people in need in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 70:5).
