Street children in South Sudan face many daily struggles and dangers, especially in the capital, Juba. Many of these children come from poor or broken families, often affected by years of war and violence. Some have lost their parents, while others run away from abuse at home. Without money or support, they drop out of school and live on the streets. To survive, many join gangs, where they feel a sense of belonging and protection. However, gang life exposes them to crime, drugs, and violence, making it hard to leave. Fear and pressure from gang leaders keep them trapped. Some children are also wrongly arrested during police crackdowns. Despite these challenges, a few former gang members now help these youths by offering support, education, and activities like sports. Their efforts show that with care and guidance, street children can find safer paths and build a better future for themselves.
GOD of all comfort and hope, bless all the children, especially street kids, in South Sudan with hope and a bright future. Deliver them from their addictions, mental illness, hopelessness, and other evil things that are haunting them. In Jesus’s Name, we pray. Amen (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 29:11).
Almighty GOD, the One who makes a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, do a new thing in the lives of these young souls in South Sudan. Bless these young souls with new opportunities and new life in You. In Jesus’s Name, we pray. Amen (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 43:19).
