Severe flooding, landslides, and thunderstorms in parts of Afghanistan have caused great damage and loss of life. At least 17 people have died, and 26 others were injured in the past 24 hours, according to officials. Rescue teams are still checking affected areas, so the number of victims may rise. The disaster has impacted 13 provinces, mainly in the western, central, and northwestern regions of the country. Many homes were damaged or destroyed, leaving families without shelter. Roads, farms, and irrigation systems were also badly affected, making life harder for people who depend on agriculture. Around 530 families have suffered due to this disaster. Authorities have warned that more heavy rain is expected, especially in eastern and central regions. People have been advised to stay away from rivers and flood-prone areas for their safety. Local officials are on alert to provide help and support. This situation shows how dangerous extreme weather can be and the importance of being prepared.

Pray for the LORD’S comfort for the families of the deceased victims. Pray for the LORD’S healing power upon all the injured victims. Pray for divine protection and provision for all the people, especially the flood victims, in Afghanistan during this rainy season (The Holy Bible, Psalm 62:8).

Pray for the success of the Afghan government’s efforts to safeguard the safety of the people living in the country and to strengthen the infrastructure to prevent further damage from floods and their aftermath (The Holy Bible, Psalm 20:2).
