A recent attack in Sudan has caused great sadness and concern. A major hospital in El-Daein, a city in the west, was hit on the night of 20th March, killing 64 people, including children and medical staff, and injuring many others. The hospital stopped working after the strike, leaving people without care. The World Health Organization strongly condemned the attack and said health care should never be a target during any conflict. The army denied carrying out the strike, while the Rapid Support Forces blamed an army drone. This conflict began in April 2023 and has caused great suffering, with many deaths and millions forced to flee their homes. People now struggle daily without enough food, safety, or medicine. Aid groups are calling for peace, justice, and urgent help. Sadly, there is still no clear end to the fighting.
Pray for the end of the war and violence in Sudan. Pray for the LORD to touch the hearts of the leaders of the warring parties in the country, so that they find a peaceful resolution to their differences through talks. Pray for peace and reconciliation between them, in the Mighty Name of our LORD, Jesus Christ (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:1).
Sovereign LORD, for the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the crying civilians in Sudan, now arise, oh LORD, and set these innocent people in the peace and safety for which they yearn. We pray for Your comfort for the families of the deceased victims. We pray for Your Healing power upon all the injured (The Holy Bible, Psalm 12:5).
