Afghanistan and Pakistan are now in a serious war after weeks of rising border clashes and mutual attacks. Pakistan says it launched airstrikes on cities like Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia under a military campaign it calls Operation Ghazab lil Haq, claiming this is a response to Afghan forces attacking its troops near the shared border and sheltering militants who strike inside Pakistan. Islamabad’s defense minister declared the situation an “open war” after these strikes, which both sides say killed soldiers or fighters, though the numbers differ and are hard to verify. Afghan authorities say they repelled Pakistani aircraft over Bagram airbase using anti-air defenses and have also struck Pakistani military targets. The fighting has stretched into several days, with clashes along the Durand Line frontier and reports of civilian harm, drawing concern from the United Nations and other countries. Pakistan blames militant groups based in Afghanistan for violence inside its borders, while Afghanistan denies harboring them, and peace talks have so far failed to stop the fighting.
Pray for the LORD’S intervention between Afghanistan and Pakistan to end the conflict and violent attacks on each other. Pray for divine protection upon all the innocent civilians in both countries, especially those who live near the countries’ border areas (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
Pray for the wise counsel of the authorities to prevent further attacks and to restore peace and stability between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Pray that the Love of God will supernaturally fill the hearts and minds of the authorities of both nations, bringing an end to the political tensions and attacks. Pray for the people of GOD in both countries to be salt and light for the non-believers during this time of uncertainty (The Holy Bible, Matthew 5:13-16).
