Morocco ranks 23rd out of 50 countries on the Open Doors World Watch List 2026, showing very high pressure on Christians. About 37,400 Christians live in the country, making up only 0.1 percent of the population. Many are converts from Islam, while others are expatriates from Sub-Saharan Africa. The report says Christians face strong family and community pressure, especially in rural areas. Some are forced to leave their homes, lose their jobs, or suffer physical and mental abuse. During the reporting period, dozens were detained, abused, or abducted, and several churches were attacked or closed. Moroccan Christians are not allowed to establish their own churches, and the sale of Bibles is restricted. Government monitoring of Christian activities has increased, especially for church leaders. Women converts face forced marriage and family rejection, while men risk job loss and arrest. The report says these conditions limit religious freedom and daily life for many believers.

Almighty GOD, the Scripture says that You shall never permit the righteous to be moved. We claim this Verse for Your people in Morocco. We pray for You to sustain them and their faith as they face persecution in their homeland (The Holy Bible, Psalm 55:22).

Pray for the end of religious oppression in Morocco. Pray for freedom of religion and freedom of Worship for all the people, especially believers, in the country (The Holy Bible, Luke 1:37).
