A crowd affiliated with the separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) attacked a government building in Ataq, a city in southeastern Yemen, killing several people and injuring dozens. The armed supporters of the STC marched towards the building, attempting to storm it and bring down the national flag. Security and military personnel fired live ammunition to disperse the crowd. According to local officials, five people were killed, and 39 were injured in the clashes. This attack comes at a time when the Saudi-backed Presidential Leadership Council (PLC), which is Yemen’s internationally recognized government, has recently announced a new cabinet to rule the country, which is now divided. Last month, the PLC consolidated its control over southern Yemen after the STC failed to seize control of two southern provinces, and the UAE forces, who supported the STC, withdrew from the area.

Pray for the spirit of reconciliation and peace between the warring parties in southern Yemen. Pray for divine protection for all the innocent civilians from violence. Pray for GOD’s healing upon all the injured victims (The Holy Bible, Psalm 133:1).

Pray for divine wisdom for the authorities to address the deep political divisions in Yemen. Pray for justice and peace to prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Matthew 5:9).
