North Korea is one of the most oppressive states in the world, and it continued its repression in 2025. The state had strict regulations about various aspects of the lives of citizens. The censuring, surveillance, and control of markets had become stricter. The citizens lacked food and had to bear the high cost of even the available food. On the other hand, the government was busy manufacturing weapons and other military equipment. Those who went to war abroad had either been executed or forced to commit suicide. Those who attempted to immigrate had either been caught and sent back home, tortured, imprisoned, or killed. The availability of independent news and external information was curtailed as international broadcasts were cut. The regulations had created a wider difference between the rich and the poor. The poor were suffering while the elite benefited. Human Rights Watch and the UN had urged the North Korean government to stop forced labor and provide food and healthcare. It was also requested to reduce extreme control over the population.

Pray for the end of the oppressive regime in North Korea.  Pray for the Holy Spirit of GOD to turn the hearts and minds of the North Korean leader and his authorities towards Truth, justice, and righteousness (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 21:1).

Pray for the North Korean government to lift the restrictions on innocent civilians in their homeland and abroad. Pray for the government to uphold the rights and freedoms of its people. Pray for the North Korean people to experience and exercise real freedom and democracy in their homeland (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 20:28).

Lord Holy Spirit, open the eyes and hearts of the people of North Korea to see and accept Jesus Christ, their real Deliverer, Redeemer, and Eternal Savior (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 43:11).
