Vietnam is experiencing a severe increase in school violence that reveals underlying issues in child-raising and education. Since October, there have been numerous reports of violent assaults between students that have resulted in stabbing and beating, some of which have been recorded and posted on social media. Such incidents are not merely acts of misbehavior but also indicate a lack of emotional and moral upbringing. Many students have lost empathy and do not know how to deal with anger and humiliation healthily. Grades and success have become the overriding concerns of families, schools, and society, while emotional education is neglected. Schools even attempt to cover up violence to maintain their reputation, which only exacerbates the problem. Punishment alone is ineffective in addressing this crisis, according to experts. Vietnam requires more honesty, emotional support, and education that can teach children how to be empathetic and deal with conflict in a non-violent manner.
Pray for the authorities of the education department and the parents to take immediate action to end the violent assaults between school students in Vietnam. Pray for justice and peace to prevail in the nation (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 22:6).
Almighty GOD, break the chains of bitterness, hatred, and enmity from the hearts of the little souls in Vietnam. Fill their hearts with love and a desire for peaceful co-existence. We pray for divine protection and wisdom for them to excel in their studies and to become agents of change in their communities (The Holy Bible, Jeremiah 32:17).
