Khartoum’s international airport has reopened to scheduled commercial flights for the first time in more than two years, marking a symbolic moment for Sudan after a long period of conflict. A Sudan Airways plane flew from Port Sudan to Khartoum, carrying dozens of passengers and sparking celebrations at the airport. Officials say the airport is now ready to receive up to four flights a day, helping reconnect the capital with other parts of the country. The reopening follows the military’s claim that it has regained full control of Khartoum from the Rapid Support Forces. The government has also moved its headquarters back to the capital after operating from Port Sudan during the war. Despite this progress, fighting continues in other parts of Sudan, especially in Darfur, where violence has caused mass displacement and a severe humanitarian crisis. Aid groups say delivering help remains extremely difficult due to insecurity and damaged infrastructure. While the airport’s reopening brings hope, millions of Sudanese still face danger, hunger, and uncertainty as the conflict continues.
Praise GOD for the reopening of the Khartoum Airport in Sudan. Pray for an improved security system throughout Sudan. Pray for divine protection and peace upon all the Sudanese civilians. Pray for the peaceful end of the war and violence in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).
Pray for a breakthrough in Sudan’s political deadlock. Pray for the LORD’S restorative power upon the nation and its people to blot out violence, war, and enmity (The Holy Bible, Ezekiel 36:26).
