Bangladesh recorded a significant rise in road crashes and casualties in 2025, highlighting persistent road safety failures. According to Bangladesh Jatri Kalyan Samity, at least 9,111 people were killed and 14,812 injured in 6,729 road accidents—an increase over 2024 figures. The organization blamed unchanged transport policies, rising traffic congestion, fare irregularities, and lack of reform despite a change in government. It also estimated annual economic losses of Tk 60,000 crore due to road accidents, calling for strong political commitment to improve road safety and protect lives.

Abba Father, we pray for protection over all travelers, drivers, and pedestrians. Preserve lives and prevent further tragedy on the roads. Lord, comfort families who have lost loved ones and heal those injured in road crashes. Amen (The Holy Bible, Psalm 121:8).

Lord, bring accountability, discipline, and integrity into the transport system so that safety is upheld above profit. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 31:9).
