In North Korea, the government treats Christianity as a crime against the state, often equating religious belief with political treason because it challenges loyalty to the ruling Kim family and the state’s official ideology. According to recent reports, following Jesus or even possessing a Bible can lead to arrest, imprisonment in harsh labor camps, torture, and severe punishment for believers and sometimes their families. The regime sees religion as a threat to its control and tries to suppress all independent faith, especially Christianity, which it labels as hostile and influenced by foreign forces. Religious freedom is almost non‑existent, and independent worship is banned. People caught practicing their faith may be sent to political prison camps with brutal conditions and forced labor, and some face long sentences without fair trials. Despite this intense persecution and isolation, some efforts continue to support hidden believers through secret broadcasts and communication by defectors living abroad.

Almighty GOD, the Scripture says that You shall never permit the righteous to be moved. We claim this Verse for Your people in North Korea. We pray for You to sustain them and their faith as they face persecution in their homeland (The Holy Bible, Psalm 55:22).

Pray for an end to the oppressive regime in North Korea. Pray for freedom of religion and freedom of Worship for all the people, especially believers, in the country (The Holy Bible, Luke 1:37).
