Yemen’s political situation is very unstable and complicated. The country has been torn by war for many years, involving different groups fighting for power. In the north, the Iran‑aligned Houthis movement control the capital Sanaa and much of the region. They fought against the internationally recognized government, which moved its base to Aden after losing Sanaa. The Southern Transitional Council (STC), a powerful southern separatist group, controls large parts of the south and wants independence, weakening the unity of the recognized government. Recently, STC forces seized key provinces in the south, causing clashes with government forces and raising fears of renewed fighting. Saudi Arabia, which backs the government, has responded with airstrikes and demands that the separatists withdraw from the territory they hold. The United Arab Emirates has supported the STC, creating tension between Gulf allies. Peace talks and diplomacy have so far failed to stop the violence, and the war continues to affect millions of civilians.
Pray for the LORD’S intervention in Yemen to stop the violent attacks and to end the political crisis. Pray for the LORD’S move to gather the nation as a whole and redeem them from all the enemies of the country’s peace and unity (The Holy Bible, Zechariah 10:8).
Pray for the LORD to break every yoke of the warring groups for power in Yemen. Pray for the LORD to undo the heavy burden on the innocent civilians and to let them enjoy real freedom (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 58:6).
