Civil society groups in South Sudan are warning that violence is increasing across the country and are calling on all political and military parties to respect the 2018 peace agreement and follow a strict ceasefire. They said recent clashes in areas like Unity and Jonglei could undo years of fragile peace and may lead to widespread conflict if the fighting does not stop. The groups urged leaders to stop all attacks, avoid actions that could make tensions worse, and return to peaceful dialogue to solve disagreements. They also asked international and local monitors to investigate reported ceasefire violations and make sure those responsible are held accountable. The civil society leaders stressed that lasting peace and security in South Sudan can only come through non-violent solutions and full implementation of the peace deal that ended years of civil war. They warned that continued fighting would harm civilians, disrupt lives, and worsen the humanitarian situation. They called on everyone to prioritize the safety and well-being of ordinary people and to work for long-term stability in the country.

Pray for the warring parties in South Sudan to end fighting and to uphold the 2018 peace agreement. Pray that the Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against the enmity, violence, and hatred that are prevailing in the country (The Holy Bible, Isaiah 59:19).

Pray for divine protection for all the innocent civilians from the violent attacks in South Sudan. Pray for peace and harmony to prevail among the leaders and in the nation (The Holy Bible, Psalm 55:18).
