Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the second phase of the US-brokered Gaza plan is getting closer, but important problems remain. Under President Donald Trump’s plan, Israel would pull back more troops, an international force would enter Gaza, and Hamas would disarm so rebuilding could begin. However, Hamas says it might only “freeze or store” its weapons, not give them up yet. Both sides accuse each other of breaking the ceasefire almost every day, and Israel still controls more than half of Gaza while Hamas has regained control of the rest. Netanyahu doubts that an international force can truly disarm Hamas and insists Israel will make it happen one way or another. A Hamas official said the group is open to discussing ways to avoid new fighting but argues Israel is not meeting its commitments. Aid groups say supplies have increased, but still face restrictions. Talks continue as leaders push to advance the peace plan.
Pray for the authorities of both Israel and Hamas to adhere to the ceasefire agreement. Pray for the peaceful commission of the next phase of the peace treaty (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 24:6).
Pray for divine peace and protection upon the people in the Middle East. Pray for the Holy Spirit of GOD to remove the hatred and enmity between the people and heal them (The Holy Bible, Genesis 26:28).
