The overnight clash between Afghan and Pakistani forces at the border near the Chaman, Spin Boldak crossing, caused fear and confusion for many nearby residents. Heavy gunfire and loud shelling lasted for hours, breaking a recent ceasefire that aimed to bring peace to the area. Five people, mostly civilians, were killed, and several others were wounded as homes and streets were struck by mortars and bullets. Families fled their houses in the dark, trying to find safe places for their children. Both countries accused each other of starting the fight, which increased the tension. Residents said the violence felt sudden and frightening, and many feared it could happen again. The incident showed that peace in the border region is still very fragile. Both sides need to do more to prevent future clashes and protect innocent civilians who just want to live safely.

Pray for both the Afghan and Pakistani authorities to adhere to the ceasefire agreements continually. Pray for the peaceful end of the border clashes between Afghanistan and Pakistan (The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:9).

Pray for the LORD’s comfort upon the families of the deceased victims. Pray for divine protection and peace for all the people living in the Afghan-Pakistan border areas (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).
