The National Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre has issued a flood warning for Kuantan, effective from today until Tuesday. Low-lying areas near the Kuantan and Cherating river basins are at risk as continuous rain and rising river levels may push water above the danger mark. Many villages and residential areas  including Kampung Sungai Lembing, Bandar Kuantan, Kampung Galing, Beserah, Alor Akar, Kampung Jawa, and several areas near Cherating — have been identified as vulnerable. The centre also warned that flooding may happen earlier or later than predicted and urged residents to stay alert and prepared.

Abba Father, protect every resident in Kuantan and Cherating during this flood threat. Guard their homes, their families, and their lives from harm. Be their refuge in this time of uncertainty. Amen The Holy Bible, Psalm 46:1).
