In Brunei, Christmas has remained quiet and private. Although Christmas Day is still an official public holiday, public celebrations and decorations are banned. Christians and other non-Muslims may celebrate inside churches or in their homes, but these celebrations must be out of public view. Shops and streets do not show Christmas trees, lights, or festive songs, as public displays are not allowed. Churches and religious groups face strict rules: only a few older, officially recognized churches exist, and they are closely monitored. Many Christians quietly go to church services or mark the day with family meals. For them, Christmas is a small, private time of faith, not a public celebration.
Pray for the Bruneian government to ease the restrictions on non-muslims, especially Christians, in the nation. Pray for freedom of religion and freedom of Worship in Brunei. Pray for divine protection upon Christians in the country (The Holy Bible, Psalm 141:8).
Pray for the Holy Spirit of GOD to open the hearts and minds of the non-believers in Brunei to be receptive to the Gospel. Pray that this season of celebration will bring a season of repentance and revival among the unreached in the country (The Holy Bible, 2 Corinthians 5:20).
