The flow of outside news into North Korea is shrinking fast. Free North Korea Radio (FNK), based in Seoul, has broadcast uncensored foreign news into North Korea for two decades. But this year, big government-funded broadcasters from the United States and South Korea stopped broadcasting, after funding cuts and policy changes. As a result, foreign radio broadcasts to North Korea have dropped by about 85 percent. FNK is now one of the few remaining sources of outside news, with only five workers, all defectors. Other efforts include a website and mobile app targeting North Koreans living abroad to provide practical information about studying, working, and life outside the country. Even with strict laws and risks, the team believes sharing outside news is important so North Koreans can learn about freedom, rights, and the world beyond their borders.

Pray for the North Korean authorities to have the thirst for righteousness and justice. Pray for the government to uphold the rights and freedom of every citizen in the country (The Holy Bible, Micah 6:8).

Pray for an end to the oppressive regime in North Korea. Pray for the right to information for all North Korean citizens. Pray for them to have access to all their rights and freedoms in their homeland (The Holy Bible, Psalm 146:7).
