Severe flooding in Vietnam has caused major damage and loss in the south-central region over the past week. The rainy season became extremely intense, bringing almost two metres of rain to some areas, which is about the amount the region usually gets in an entire year. The heavy rain led to dangerous floods and landslides that destroyed or damaged hundreds of thousands of buildings and left many people without power. River levels rose to record highs, and strong currents were so powerful that they swept away a suspension bridge over the Ða Nhim River. The flooding also badly affected the local farming industry, with an estimated loss of three million animals and about 80,000 hectares of crops. At least 90 people have died so far, and rescue teams continue to search for missing residents. The situation remains difficult as communities struggle to recover from the devastating impact.
Pray for divine protection and provision for all the flood victims in Nigeria. Pray for them to have immediate access to food, shelter, and other basic needs. Pray for divine comfort for the families of the deceased victims (The Holy Bible, Lamentations 3:56).
Pray for the effective implementation of precautionary measures to protect the people of Vietnam from natural calamities. Pray for the authorities to expedite the aid distribution for all the flood victims in the country (The Holy Bible, Genesis 22:14).
