Afghanistan is suffering a silent climate emergency that hits children and families hard. Recent earthquakes have reduced homes to rubble, leaving people like Amanatullah grieving the loss of his children, while harsh winters and drought make life even more difficult. Millions struggle to access safe water, and many drink contaminated water, which leaves them sick. Schools are being disrupted, and families are facing hunger and poor health. Efforts are underway to provide emergency shelters, food, and repair damaged water systems. Communities are building long-term solutions: solar-powered water pumps, systems that store rainwater underground, and technology that finds sources of underground water. These are initiatives that help families survive and prepare for future disasters. Children and families are in dire need of more than hope: they need action, innovation, and investment in protection from the effects of this climate emergency.

Pray for divine protection upon all the people in Afghanistan during this winter. Pray for divine provision of uninterrupted and clean drinking water, food, healthcare, and other basic needs and rights for all the Afghan families, especially children (The Holy Bible, Psalm 17:8).

Pray for more funding support for the effective implementation and expansion of lifesaving efforts to protect the lives of the innocent civilians in Afghanistan (The Holy Bible, Genesis 22:14).
