Protests erupted across at least five major Iranian cities as pensioners, nurses, and oil sector workers demanded fair wages and payment of long-overdue benefits. Retirees from Iran’s Telecommunications Company rallied in cities including Tehran, Shiraz, Tabriz, Isfahan, and Khoy, denouncing corruption and unpaid allowances. In Kermanshah, nurses protested over more than a year of unpaid overtime and shift wages, calling for justice and accountability from health authorities. Meanwhile, oil company employees in Lavan and factory workers in Tehran also staged strikes over withheld salaries and poor working conditions. The human rights group HRANA reported over 3,700 protests and strikes across Iran this year, reflecting growing frustration over economic hardship and government inaction.
Abba Father, we lift up those whose labor goes unrewarded. Bring justice for the workers and pensioners of Iran who struggle under unfair treatment. Let truth and fairness prevail across their land. In Jesus’ name. Amen (The Holy Bible, Luke 10:7).
Lord, touch the hearts of leaders and officials in Iran to act with honesty and compassion. Inspire them to serve their people with integrity and fairness. Amen (The Holy Bible, Proverbs 31:9).
